WellEducator services align with the U.S. Surgeon General’s 5 Essentials for Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing.

WellEducator services align with the U.S. Surgeon General’s 5 Essentials for Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing.  Here’s how:

1. Protection from Harm: Safety and Security

WellEducator services create workplace psychosocial safety by creating nonjudgmental meeting spaces where educators can gather to support one another on individual wellness intentions. Whether gathering in one of WellEducator’s Neighborhoods or participating in a mindfulness exercise during Camp Thrive or Field Trips, WellEducator fosters a safe, inclusive environment for all.  Safety and security are essential human needs and are an integral part of the offerings at WellEducator.

2. Connection and Community: Social Support and Belonging

These essential needs are the heart of WellEducator offerings.  WellEducator’s innovative community of wellness gatherings foster belonging and social connectedness.  Small gatherings of 6 to 8 educators form a WellEducator Neighborhood and share their wellness journey during the school year.  Social support is provided in all WellEducator offerings through group celebrations as individual educators engage in personalized, self-generated wellness intentions.  WellEducator Neighborhoods, Camp Thrive, and Field Trips create opportunities for social support through mindful check-ins and intention setting.

3. Work-Life Harmony: Autonomy and Flexibility

Through a focus on 8 Dimensions of Wellbeing (cognitive, emotional, social, occupational, environmental, spiritual, financial, and physical), WellEducator services provide a holistic approach to educator wellness.  Through this comprehensive wellness lens, WellEducator supports and celebrates the importance of work-life harmony.  WellEducator services are scheduled during consistent times so educators can access the resources on a predictable and convenient schedule.  WellEducator’s Skills Builders and Skills Backpack resources focus on supporting work and non-work balance and boundaries.

4. Mattering at Work: Dignity and Meaning

By investing in WellEducator’s services you are investing in the overall wellbeing of your school’s employees and communicating their wellness matters.  WellEducator services include Skills Builders and Skills Backpack wellness resources directly teaching the importance of a culture of wellbeing and the psychosocial benefits of a practice of gratitude and recognition in the workplace.

5. Opportunity for Growth: Learning and Accomplishments

WellEducator services foster growth and development through its holistic virtual programming in the forms of small, intimate gatherings (Neighborhoods), moderately sized groups enrolled in Camp Thrive Wellness course and large groups for 30-minute Field Trip experiences 2 times per month.  In each offering, educators participate in a variety of mindfulness activities to cultivate personal and professional awareness, set individually unique wellness intentions, and share resources to enhance personal growth and development.  When asked, educators participating in these offerings have strongly agreed that the services have enhanced their overall wellbeing and positively impacted their work with students and families.  During each gathering, educators share their accomplishments and celebrate their successes on their wellness journey.
